Emoji data from unicode.org as easily consumable JSON files.

A small JSON export of Unicode's RGI emoji data, built from the official unicode.org dumps. It's for anyone who needs emoji metadata (names, groups, unicode/emoji version, skin tone support) without writing a parser for Unicode's raw format themselves.

Skin tone variants are collapsed into one base entry with a skin_tone_support flag instead of dumping 5+ near-duplicate rows per emoji, which is the right call for most consumers. Ships multiple pre-shaped file formats (by-emoji, by-group, ordered list, components) so you pick the shape that matches your use case instead of transforming one blob yourself. Has a real build pipeline (download → parse → test) that checks parsed emoji counts against Unicode's own stats, not just a hand-maintained JSON file someone forgot to update.

The README admits the post-upgrade dual-skin-tone-emoji fixup is manual and unautomated (open issue #3 since early on) — a new Unicode version can silently under-count emoji until someone notices and patches generate-emoji-counts.js by hand. RGI-only scope means minimally-qualified/unqualified emoji are excluded, which will surprise anyone matching against user-typed or copy-pasted emoji that don't use the fully-qualified form. It's a static data snapshot with no versioning per release beyond git history — there's no way to pin or diff against a specific Unicode emoji version from the package itself, so updates are all-or-nothing on whatever's in main.
