Create, operate and scale self-healing MySQL clusters in Kubernetes

// the take

An abandoned Kubernetes operator for running MySQL clusters, archived by Oracle in favor of a successor at mysql/mysql-operator. The README is a single line pointing you elsewhere; there is no functioning code to evaluate here.

There is nothing to credit in this repository itself; any technical merit it once had lives on in the replacement project, not here.

The repo is archived and receives no updates, so any cluster built on it is running unpatched, unmaintained code with known CVEs piling up over time. Last push was May 2021, meaning it predates several Kubernetes API deprecations that would likely break it on a current cluster. Anyone who installs this by mistake instead of mysql/mysql-operator will waste real time discovering it's a dead end only after deploying it.

We read the README, the directory tree and a key source file in October 2026. Nobody pays to be listed. How we judge →
