macOS video editor built for AI
A macOS-only video editor (Swift, Metal-based compositor) with AI generation models wired into the timeline and an MCP server so Claude/Codex/Cursor agents can edit alongside you. It's for a narrow audience: Apple Silicon Mac users who want AI video gen integrated into an NLE and who want to drive that NLE from an agent rather than a GUI.
The MCP integration is the real feature here — it exposes timeline operations as agent tools (ToolExecutor+Clips, +Color, +Captions, +Multicam, etc.), so an LLM can actually manipulate a project file, not just chat about it. The compositor is custom-built with real Metal kernels for grading, LUTs, chroma key, and curves rather than wrapping AVFoundation filters. Feature breadth is genuinely wide for a from-scratch editor: multicam, FCPXML/XML export, caption pipeline with transcript mapping, beat detection for audio sync.
This isn't really an open-source project anymore: everything past v0.7.6 is proprietary binaries, contributions are closed, and what's published is a frozen historical snapshot plus update metadata — don't expect to build or extend current releases from this repo. Hard-locked to macOS 26 (Tahoe) on Apple Silicon only, so there's no path for Intel Macs or older OS versions. The generation layer depends on third-party model APIs (Seedance, Kling, Nano Banana Pro) with no indication of self-hosted or offline fallback, which is a cost and availability risk for anyone building on top of it.
