Companion source code for a Chinese-language Django tutorial book ('跟老齐学Python：Django实战'), with two parallel versions of the same mysite project built for Django 1.x and Django 2.x respectively. It's aimed at Chinese-speaking beginners following along with the book or the author's paid course, not at developers looking for a reusable Django starter.
Having both the Django 1.x and 2.x versions of the same app side by side is genuinely useful for anyone tracking what breaks across that upgrade (class-based view changes, url() vs path(), etc.). The apps cover real beginner-relevant Django patterns beyond hello-world: user accounts, a blog/article app with migrations, a course/lesson model, and image upload with cropping via a bundled JS cropper.
Dead since mid-2019 and pinned to Django 1.x/2.x — nothing here reflects Django 3/4/5 changes, so it's a poor base for an actual new project. The repo ships a populated db.sqlite3, compiled __pycache__/.pyc files, and generated media/thumbnail cache directories committed directly into source control, which means cloning it pulls in stale binary cruft and sample data rather than a clean app. Third-party JS (layer v3.0.1, editor.md, jQuery) is vendored wholesale with its full docs/examples/fonts instead of pulled via a package manager, so you inherit frozen, unpatched copies of those libraries. No LICENSE file is present, so the legal terms for reusing any of this code are undefined.
