Go client libraries for OpenAI

A lightweight Go wrapper around the pre-2024 OpenAI REST API, split into one package per endpoint (chat, completion, embedding, audio, moderation, edit, image). Useful for someone who wants a thin, dependency-light client and can live without anything OpenAI has shipped since late 2023.

Package-per-API layout means you only pull in what you use instead of one monolithic client. Streaming is implemented separately for both completions and chat rather than bolted on as an afterthought. Every supported API has a runnable example under examples/, so getting a first call working doesn't require reading the source.

Last push is November 2023 — no function/tool calling, no JSON mode, no vision, no Assistants API, none of the models released since GPT-4 Turbo. This isn't a client with gaps, it's a client for an API surface that no longer exists. Images support is still marked as work-in-progress and looks like it was abandoned mid-implementation. No test files anywhere in the tree, so there's no safety net for the request/response parsing or the streaming decoders. OpenAI now maintains its own official Go SDK (openai/openai-go); at 447 stars and a two-year-old last commit, there's no reason to pick this one over that.
