Insert org-mode links from clipboard
A small Emacs package that grabs a URL from the clipboard, fetches the page title, and inserts it as an org-mode link. It's for Emacs/org-mode users who are tired of manually copying page titles when linking to things, and it ships an org-capture variant for the same workflow inside capture templates.
Genuinely has a test suite — unit tests via Cask/ert-runner plus integration tests against a real local test server covering gzip, HTTPS, and Basic Auth cases, which is more rigor than most 300-line Emacs packages bother with. It's on MELPA and exposes a real extension point (org-cliplink-insert-transformed-title) so you can rewrite titles per-domain without forking. Supports both curl and url.el as transports, so it degrades gracefully if curl isn't installed.
Dead since April 2023 with an unresolved Windows support issue (#35) that's been open long enough to just be the status quo, not a bug in progress. The org-cliplink-capture function explicitly doesn't support Basic Auth or the curl transport, so the two entry points behave inconsistently depending on which one you use. Test infrastructure depends on Python 2.7.6+, which is a genuine problem if you ever need to actually run the test suite rather than trust CI history. Scope is intentionally tiny — this does one thing and nothing else, so don't expect it to grow.
