See readme for newer repo details! A sample shop that shows how to manage payments with Vue, Stripe, and Serverless Functions
A small Nuxt.js demo shop showing Stripe Checkout/Elements integration with a serverless payment handler, built to accompany a CSS-Tricks article on Vue patterns. It's for developers who want a minimal, readable reference for wiring Stripe into a Vue/Nuxt app, not a production starter.
The scope is deliberately small, so the Stripe flow (client-side Elements plus a separate serverless function) is easy to trace without wading through boilerplate. It doubles as a decent Vue 2 teaching example: computed properties, .sync, Vuex for cart/product state, and CSS Grid layout are all used in real components rather than toy snippets. The serverless handler is split into its own repo, so you can see the payment logic without it being tangled into the frontend.
The author explicitly deprecated this in the README in favor of sdras/ecommerce-netlify, and there's been no activity in years — Vue 2, Nuxt 1-era config, and Vuex patterns are all dated now. The built dist/ output is committed straight into the repo, which is just noise and a sign this was never meant to be forked as a template. There are no tests at all, and the 'articles explaining the demo' link points at a CSS-Tricks page that's likely long gone, so context for some of the design decisions is missing.
