Feature coverage is unusually broad for a reverse-engineered client: streaming and non-streaming chat, concurrent message sends, file/image attachments, custom bot creation with knowledge-base uploads, and group chats. The OpenAI-compatible proxy server (chat/completions, images, function calling, vision) is a genuinely useful shim if you already have OpenAI-shaped code and want to point it elsewhere. Both sync and async clients are first-class, not an afterthought.
The README's first line is a maintenance notice telling you to use Poe's real API instead — the author has effectively ended this project and there's no guarantee new breakage gets fixed. It works by scraping p-b/p-lat session cookies and a client-side formkey out of your browser, which is brittle (any Poe frontend change can break auth) and puts your personal Poe session credentials in a config file rather than a proper API key.
