A TypeScript proxy that normalizes dozens of free/reverse-engineered chat sites (You.com, Phind, Forefront, Bing, etc.) behind an OpenAI-compatible /v1/chat/completions endpoint. It's for people who want a GPT-4-ish API without paying OpenAI, and who are fine with that being fragile and legally gray.
Each provider lives in its own model/ folder with a consistent index.ts/define.ts/child.ts shape, so adding a new reverse-engineered site is a bounded, mostly-copy-paste job rather than touching shared code. The API surface mirrors OpenAI's chat completions format plus SSE streaming, so it's a drop-in base URL swap for existing OpenAI client code. Docker and docker-compose are provided and the whole thing runs with a single env file, no build step required to try it.
No commits since September 2024, and the README itself says most of the ~30 listed sites are already dead — this isn't a stale cache problem, the project's premise is sites going offline faster than anyone patches around it. The README ships a live-looking API key and base URL in plaintext as a 'free key,' which is either an abandoned demo credential or something you really don't want to paste into your own project. Every provider works by scraping or replaying undocumented internal APIs of third-party chat sites, so there's no SLA, no ToS compliance, and each one can break silently with no upstream changelog to watch. There's no test suite visible in the tree, which matters more here than in most projects since the entire codebase is built on endpoints that shift under you.
