An amazing UI for OpenAI's ChatGPT (Website + Windows + MacOS + Linux)

A React/TypeScript client for the OpenAI chat completion API that runs entirely in the browser, store your own API key or point it at a proxy, and get folders, a prompt library, and multi-format export on top of what the ChatGPT web UI gives you. Useful for developers who already have API access and want a local-first alternative they can self-host on Vercel, GitHub Pages, or Docker.

Everything persists to localStorage with Google Drive sync as an opt-in backup, so there's no backend to run just to keep your chat history. Electron builds ship for Windows/Mac/Linux with offline access, which is more than most ChatGPT-wrapper projects bother with. i18n coverage is unusually wide (20+ locales) and actually maintained, not just English with machine-translated stubs. One-click Vercel deploy and a docker-compose file both work for self-hosting without touching the source.

Last commit is August 2024 - over a year stale, so no support for anything OpenAI or Anthropic shipped since then (no reasoning models, no updated pricing tables, no current API shapes). The 'proxy to bypass ChatGPT regional restrictions' feature routes your API key through a third-party service (ayaka14732/ChatGPTAPIFree) you have no reason to trust, and the README actively recommends it as the free-usage path. There's no test directory anywhere in the tree, so a fork or PR has nothing checking that state management or import/export logic still works. The README itself is pure landing-page copy ('unlock the full potential', 'limitless power') which doesn't inspire confidence that the code underneath is held to a different standard.
