Social and fun boardgame about IT. Best with 🍻
A print-and-play card/board game about IT culture and work life, built by a well-known Python/mypy contributor (sobolevn) as a side project. It's aimed at developers who want a goofy, Exploding-Kittens-style game to play with coworkers or friends, not at anyone looking for a software library.
The production pipeline is more than a README: Python scripts under tools/ (generate-pdf.py, generate-images-from-pdf.py, validate-cards.py) turn Numbers spreadsheets and drawio diagrams into print-ready PDFs, backed by pre-commit hooks and CI workflows (shellcheck, card validation). It ships in three real forms — free print-and-play PDF, an actual Tabletop Simulator mod with its own build script, and an order-a-physical-copy option — so it's been taken past the 'cool idea' stage. Three difficulty tiers (tutorial/regular/hard) plus homebrew and FAQ docs show real iteration from playtesting, not a single draft of rules.
The 'Python' language tag is misleading for anyone browsing repos — the actual game content is markdown, Numbers spreadsheets, and image assets; Python is just the build tooling, there's no library or app here. License is CC BY-NC-SA, so forks can't be sold and commercial use is blocked outright, which matters if someone wants to adapt the format for their own game. The English rules are explicitly the weaker translation per the repo's own TODO (Russian is the primary, more polished version), so non-Russian speakers get a second-class experience. There's no automated test suite beyond the card-validation script — correctness depends on manual playtesting, which is fine for a board game but means the Python tooling itself is lightly guarded against regressions.
