A personal archive of conference talk slides and write-ups from Tobias Koppers (sokra), a webpack maintainer, covering 2016 to 2021. It is mostly useful for people who want the maintainer's reasoning behind webpack 5 features like persistent caching and Module Federation, not for anyone looking for reusable code.
- The persistent caching and Module Federation write-ups are real technical explanations in Markdown with their diagrams under content/, so they can be read without the video.
- The 2019 'webpack 5 - why breaking changes' deck is a primary-source account of why the maintainers made the breaking changes they did, which is rarer than a changelog entry.
- The 2017 and 2018 decks ('How webpack works', '15 less known webpack features') are short, dense walkthroughs of internals like chunks and the module graph, and the deck sources are plain Markdown you can grep.
- Most decks are one-line bullets and images, so the argument lives in the spoken talk. Many entries are only a PDF under data/ plus a YouTube link, which leaves nothing to diff or read as text.
- Last push was October 2021. The webpack 5 material describes the state of things at that time, and later 5.x changes to caching and federation are not reflected here, so treat it as history rather than a current reference.
- This is a slide archive, not a library. The package.json and webpack.config.js exist only to build the decks, so there is nothing here to adopt as a dependency or template.
