// the take
A one-click AI spiral art generator built as a Next.js App Router demo — type a prompt, it generates spiral-pattern images via Replicate. It's a showcase template from Steven Tey (Vercel DX team) for pairing Server Actions with Vercel's storage primitives, not a tool anyone depends on for real work.
Clean, small reference implementation of Next.js Server Actions calling a Replicate model and persisting results with Vercel Blob + KV — useful to read if you want a concrete pattern for that stack. The webhook route for async Replicate predictions is a decent example of handling long-running generation without polling from the client. Codebase is tiny and easy to read end to end in ten minutes.
Dead since October 2023 — no commits, no issue triage, built against whatever Next.js/Vercel KV APIs existed then, some of which (Vercel KV specifically) have since been deprecated/renamed, so following the README today likely breaks on setup. Hard-locked to Vercel's proprietary Blob and KV services with no abstraction, so there's nothing to extract if you're not deploying to Vercel. No tests, no error handling shown beyond the happy path, and it's a single-feature toy app rather than a library — there's no API surface to actually adopt, just code to copy from.
