Enjoy our curated collection of examples and solutions. Use these patterns to build your own robust and scalable applications.

This is Vercel's official monorepo of Next.js/Vercel example apps and reference architectures, spanning app-directory patterns, edge middleware, i18n, ISR, redirects, and a full AI-powered coding sandbox app. It's for developers who want a working starting point to fork rather than build a pattern from scratch off the docs.

Every example is a complete, deployable app with its own package.json, README, and often a Vercel Deploy Button config, not a code snippet you have to wire up yourself. It's maintained directly by Vercel and feeds vercel.com/templates, so there's a real enforcement mechanism (CODEOWNERS, a Husky pre-commit hook running Prettier/ESLint) keeping contributions consistent. The breadth is genuinely useful: app-directory/share-state, edge-middleware bot protection, and the vibe-coding-platform app (AI SDK + sandboxed code execution) cover very different problem spaces under one roof.

Nearly everything is Vercel/Next.js-specific — the ISR, edge-middleware, and image-optimization examples lean on Vercel's platform primitives, so they're a weak reference if you're deploying elsewhere. Each example pins its own pnpm-lock.yaml independently, and with 100+ examples in one repo, some are near-guaranteed to drift out of date relative to current Next.js APIs even with active maintenance. There's no visible test suite for the individual examples — the pre-commit hook only lints and formats, so a broken example can still get merged and sit unnoticed until someone tries to run it.
