// the take
Official Stripe repo with five static HTML/CSS/JS examples of card payment forms built with Stripe Elements — single `card` field, split `cardNumber`/`cardExpiry`/`cardCvc` fields, floating labels, and Apple Pay via the Payment Request Button. It's a reference/demo repo for developers who need a working starting point for Stripe's client-side form UI, not a library to install.
Comes straight from Stripe, so the tokenization and error-handling patterns are correct and PCI-safe by construction. It covers realistic variations people actually ask about — collecting postal code outside the card form, styling focus/error states, split vs. unified card fields. Zero framework dependencies and small files, so it's easy to read end-to-end and lift just the piece you need. The GitHub Pages demo lets you see the exact behavior before copying any code.
All five examples use the older `card.createToken()` flow rather than the PaymentIntents + `confirmCardPayment`/Payment Element approach Stripe now recommends for SCA/3D Secure — copying this as a 2026 starting point will leave gaps in your compliance story. No React/Vue/Svelte equivalents, just plain JS, so it's not directly useful if you're not hand-rolling HTML. There's no backend example for actually creating a charge or PaymentIntent, so this only covers the client half of the integration. No tests, no CI, and last pushed August 2024, so it's effectively frozen — any drift in Stripe.js's recommended API won't be reflected here.
