tiangolo/uwsgi-nginx-docker
Docker image with uWSGI and Nginx for applications in Python (as Flask) in a single container.
A Docker base image bundling uWSGI, Nginx, and Supervisord to run a Python WSGI app (Flask, Django, etc.) as multiple processes in a single container. It underpins tiangolo/uwsgi-nginx-flask and was aimed at people deploying to a single VM or Docker Compose setup rather than an orchestrated cluster.
Extensive, concrete configuration surface via environment variables (UWSGI_PROCESSES, NGINX_WORKER_PROCESSES, NGINX_MAX_UPLOAD, LISTEN_PORT, custom nginx.conf override) so most deployment knobs are documented rather than left to guesswork. Every tag, config combination, and env var is covered by an actual test suite (tests/test_01_main, tests/test_02_app), which is rare for a Dockerfile-shaped project. The README is unusually honest about when not to use it, including a worked Gunicorn/Dockerfile alternative for Kubernetes users.
The repo is explicitly deprecated by its own author — uWSGI is in maintenance mode, and the maintainer states outright they no longer have bandwidth to add new Python version support beyond 3.10-3.12. The core design (multiple worker processes managed by Supervisord inside one container) actively fights the one-process-per-container model that Kubernetes, ECS, or any modern orchestrator expects, so adopting it now means building on a pattern the industry has moved away from. Alpine variants are already dropped and older Python tags (3.9 and below) are removed from the repo entirely, so pinned older projects lose reproducibility once those tags age out of Docker Hub.
