Docker image with uWSGI and Nginx for Flask applications in Python running in a single container.
A Docker base image bundling uWSGI, Nginx, and Flask into a single container, maintained by the FastAPI author before FastAPI existed. It's for anyone who wants a copy-paste Dockerfile for a classic WSGI Flask deployment without hand-rolling the Nginx/uWSGI/Supervisord plumbing themselves.
The README is unusually thorough for a Docker base image — it documents every environment variable (UWSGI_PROCESSES, STATIC_PATH, NGINX_WORKER_CONNECTIONS, etc.) with working examples instead of leaving you to read the Dockerfile. It also has actual tests covering the default app, custom uwsgi.ini overrides, and custom Nginx configs, which most Docker base images skip entirely. The prestart.sh hook for running migrations before the app boots is a genuinely useful pattern.
The repo is explicitly deprecated by its own author, who says up front that if you're on Kubernetes or any orchestrator you shouldn't use this and should run a single Gunicorn process instead — that's the whole point of the project undone in the first paragraph. uWSGI itself is in maintenance mode upstream, so you're building on a stack nobody is pushing forward. Supervisord managing two processes in one container fights the standard container model (one process, let the orchestrator handle restarts/scaling), which becomes a real liability the moment you need proper health checks or log separation. Python 3.9 and earlier tags are already pulled from the repo, so anything pinned to an old tag is now Docker-Hub-only with zero future patches.
