🚀 Free resources you may use to promote your next startup

A flat Markdown list of free channels where you can submit or post about a new startup — directories, news sites, forums, subreddits, and Google search tactics. No code, no tooling, just links. Useful as a one-time checklist when you're about to launch something.

The list is genuinely broad, covering angles most people miss: Google advanced search operators for finding backlink opportunities and guest post sites are more actionable than 'submit to Product Hunt'. Recent additions include AI-tool directories (theresanaiforthat.com, futurepedia.io) and indie web discovery sites (marginalia-search.com, wiby.me), which shows someone is still maintaining it. The opening caveat — that people who love your product are the best marketing — is the correct framing and saves the list from feeling like a spam playbook.

It's a Markdown file masquerading as a resource. No notes on which directories actually drive traffic versus which are dead weight, no indication of which links are defunct (several like scotch.io and programmableweb.com are effectively dead), and no way to track what you've already submitted. The Google search tactics section is genuinely useful but buried under 100+ unranked links, so most readers won't reach it. There's also no differentiation by stage — submitting to Crunchbase on day one versus month six has very different return on effort.
