// the take
This is the monorepo source for Vue.js 3, the reactive UI framework split into compiler, reactivity, runtime-core/dom, and SFC compiler packages. Aimed at framework maintainers, ecosystem tool authors (Vite, Nuxt, Pinia), and advanced users who need to understand or patch core behavior rather than just consume the npm package.
Clean separation between compiler-core/compiler-dom/compiler-sfc/runtime-core/reactivity makes it possible to reuse pieces (e.g. reactivity standalone) without pulling in the whole framework. Extensive test suite with snapshot tests per transform (vFor, vIf, vModel, vSlot etc.) makes the compiler's behavior traceable and regression-safe. Active CI, automated size-report and autofix workflows show the maintainers actually care about bundle size and code quality gates, not just merging PRs.
README is essentially just links to external docs and sponsors — zero actual code examples or architecture overview for someone landing on the repo cold. The dts-test package and type-level tests indicate how much effort goes into TS typings, but that also means the type system here is genuinely complex and a frequent source of friction for consumers writing custom components/directives. Being a framework core, this isn't something you 'use' directly for a project — it's only useful if you're debugging Vue internals, contributing upstream, or building tooling that hooks into the compiler APIs.
