The React Native Reanimated and Gesture Handler Toolbelt

A toolbelt of helpers for React Native Reanimated and Gesture Handler, covering path and matrix utilities, physics and animation helpers, and a ReText component for animated text. It is for developers already building gesture-driven animations who would rather not rewrite the same path, matrix, and spring code themselves.

The math modules are the strongest part. Matrix3, Matrix4, Paths, Physics, and Coordinates each have a Jest suite, so the helpers are checked directly rather than only through a demo app. Paths.ts and Matrix4.ts cover code that is easy to get subtly wrong from scratch, such as path interpolation and 3D transform composition. The last push was in August 2026 and there is a CI workflow with a badge, so this is an active repo, not an archive.

The README is an install line and a link to an external GitBook, so the API cannot be read from the repo and the examples live somewhere else. The version guidance is muddled: it sends Reanimated v1 users to v14.2.2 and an old docs site, but says nothing about which Reanimated and Gesture Handler versions the current release targets, which is the first question most adopters will ask. Because the helpers are built on Reanimated and Gesture Handler, each upstream major release is a likely source of breakage, and in the listed tree only the pure math modules have matching tests, so ReText.tsx and the animation and transition helpers have no automated check.
