Removes backgrounds from pictures. Extension for webui.
A thin extension that bolts danielgatis/rembg's background removal onto AUTOMATIC1111's webui Extras tab. Useful if you're already in that UI and want one-click background stripping on generated or uploaded images without leaving the app.
Does one small thing and gets out of the way — a single postprocessing script and an API hook, no bloat. Offloads all the actual model/inference work to the well-established rembg library rather than reinventing background removal.
It's a UI wrapper with almost no code of its own (two scripts), so there's nothing here to learn from or extend — you're really just installing rembg with extra steps. No commits since April 2024 and it's tightly coupled to AUTOMATIC1111's webui plugin API, which itself has slowed down, so breakage on future webui updates is a real risk with no visible maintenance to catch it.
