Triangle POS is an open source Inventory Management with POS System. Developed with Laravel 10, Bootstrap 4 & Livewire 3. It's completely free to use.
Triangle POS is a free, self-hosted inventory management and point-of-sale system built on Laravel 10, Livewire 3, and Bootstrap 4, using a modular (nwidart/laravel-modules-style) architecture with separate packages for products, purchases, sales, expenses, and people. It's aimed at small businesses or developers who want a ready-made PHP POS to run themselves rather than pay for SaaS.
The module-per-domain layout (Adjustment, Currency, Expense, People, Product, Purchase, etc.) keeps the codebase navigable instead of dumping everything into one app/ folder, which matters once you start customizing it. Feature set is genuinely broad for a free project: barcode printing, purchase/sale returns, multi-currency, quotations emailed to customers, and role/permission-based user management. Docker install path is provided alongside the manual composer/npm/artisan flow, so you're not stuck debugging local PHP versions to try it.
Every module ships a Tests/Feature and Tests/Unit folder but they contain nothing but .gitkeep files — the test scaffolding exists, the tests don't, so there's no safety net for a codebase this size. PDF generation depends on Laravel Snappy, which wraps the wkhtmltopdf binary; that's a fine default on Linux but means manual native-dependency setup on anything else, and wkhtmltopdf itself has been effectively unmaintained for years. It's licensed CC-BY-4.0, which is a content license, not a software license — no patent grant, no explicit liability disclaimer for code, and it's not OSI-approved, so teams doing real diligence on a POS handling money will want to check with legal before deploying it commercially. Last push was October 2024, so it's about a year stale with no visible activity since, which is a concern for a system that touches transactions and would ideally track Laravel security releases.
