100+ open-source clones of popular sites like Airbnb, Amazon, Instagram, Netflix, Tiktok, Spotify, Whatsapp, Youtube etc. See source code, demo links, tech stack, github stars.

A giant README of links to other people's clone projects and open-source alternatives (Airbnb, Netflix, Discord, etc.), organized into tutorial-based clones and more serious alternatives. It's a link directory, not a library or tool — useful for finding a React/Firebase/whatever clone project to learn from or a genuine open-source Airbnb/Stripe/Auth0 alternative to evaluate.

Splits into two genuinely useful tables: tutorial-backed clones (with a YouTube/freeCodeCamp walkthrough you can follow) versus production-grade alternatives (Supabase, Appwrite, Baserow) that are actually worth adopting, not just copying. Each row carries tech stack and a live star-count badge, so you can filter by stack and sanity-check a project's traction without opening every link. For someone picking a stack to learn (e.g. 'show me 5 Firebase-backed Instagram clones'), this is a faster start than searching GitHub topics directly.

It's a markdown list, not code — nothing to install, run, or depend on, so the repo itself has zero functional value beyond being an index. No link validation: a lot of the demo URLs are on Heroku's free tier (dead since 2022) or Netlify apps someone spun down years ago, and there's no tooling to detect rot. The maintainer states outright they're looking for someone else to merge PRs (issue #209) and the last push was August 2024 — this is coasting on stars with no active curation. There's also no quality bar for inclusion: a 2-star student project with a broken demo sits in the same table, same formatting, as Supabase, with nothing but the star badge to tell you which is which.
