Providing some manager functionality for Laravel

A tiny abstraction library from Graham Campbell's Laravel package ecosystem that implements a generic connection-manager pattern (pool of named connections, lazy connect/reconnect/disconnect, runtime driver registration via extend()). It's not something an app developer installs directly — it's infrastructure other packages build on top of, like Laravel-Flysystem and Laravel-DigitalOcean.

The connection pooling pattern is genuinely reusable boilerplate — anyone writing a Laravel package that wraps a multi-connection service (storage drivers, API clients) would otherwise reimplement this exact class every time. Zero config and no service providers to register keeps the footprint minimal for a dependency that's meant to be invisible. Support matrix is unusually wide and actively maintained — PHP 7.4 through 8.5, Laravel 8 through 13 — and CI/StyleCI badges back that up rather than just claiming it.

The README documents every method signature but gives zero code examples — you have to go read Laravel-Flysystem's source to actually see how AbstractManager gets extended in practice. The __call magic-method forwarding to the default connection is convenient but means static analyzers and IDEs can't verify method calls against the manager class itself. Test coverage is thin for code that's load-bearing across several other packages — only two test files for the whole src/ directory. This has no value in isolation; if you're not authoring a Laravel package that needs multi-connection management, there's nothing here for you.
