Source Code to go along with my video on how to program a gui in python using Tkinter
This is the companion code for a YouTube tutorial on building a desktop weather app with Tkinter — not a library or tool, just a teaching example showing how to lay out widgets, swap in icons, and call a weather API from a basic Python script.
Small enough to read start to finish in one sitting, which is exactly right for its purpose. Including both a plain version (WeatherApp.py) and an icon version (WeatherApp_withicons.py) lets a beginner see incremental complexity rather than one monolithic file. Shipping the actual icon assets (sun_icon.ico, landscape.png) means the tutorial runs out of the box instead of making viewers hunt for images.
No requirements.txt or dependency list, so anyone cloning it has to guess which HTTP/weather library get_weather_icons.py needs. No README beyond a single link to the video — no setup instructions, no mention of which weather API or API key format is expected. Abandoned since late 2021 with no license file, so there's no legal clarity on reuse and no guarantee the external weather API it calls still has a compatible free tier. It's a single-script demo with no error handling or tests, fine for a tutorial but a bad starting point if someone tries to build on it directly.
