Shayan-Shome/Bus-Fleet-Maintenance-Tracker

C · updated Dec 2025

Bus Fleet Maintenance Tracker helps manage service schedules, track repairs, log parts used, and monitor vehicle health across a fleet. It records maintenance history, upcoming tasks, and status updates to keep buses reliable and reduce downtime. Ideal for fleet admins and workshop teams.

A small C command-line tool for logging bus maintenance records, repairs, and parts to a flat text file. Aimed at a single-person workshop or classroom exercise rather than an actual fleet operation — there's no multi-user access, no database, and no fleet-scale data model.

Self-contained, dependency-free C that anyone can read start to finish in a few minutes. The scope is honest for what it is: a single main.c handling CRUD-style operations against bus_data.txt, which makes it a reasonable teaching example for basic file I/O in C.

A compiled Windows binary (FleetGuardian.exe) is checked directly into the repo — that's both a red flag for anyone cloning it and a sign there's no build step or CI producing it reproducibly. The internal naming (NIMBUS.c, FleetGuardian.exe) doesn't match the project name or description at all, suggesting this was repurposed from something else without cleanup. Storing fleet data in a flat text file means no concurrent access, no transactional integrity, and no way to scale past a handful of records — a real workshop tracking a fleet would corrupt or lose data quickly. Zero stars, zero forks, and no tests or usage instructions beyond a start.bat, so there's no evidence this has been run by anyone but the author.
