Terraform provider plugin for proxmox

A Terraform provider for Proxmox that lets you provision QEMU VMs and LXC containers as code. It's the de facto choice for anyone running a Proxmox homelab or self-hosted cluster who wants declarative infra instead of clicking through the web UI.

The codebase has been broken down into per-attribute subpackages (each with its own schema.go/sdk.go/terraform.go, e.g. guest/lxc/cpu, guest/qemu/disk) instead of one giant resource_vm_qemu.go, which makes individual pieces testable in isolation. It also ships real tests (validate_test.go, provider_test.go) rather than none. Release automation is solid — goreleaser plus a GitHub Actions release workflow, and dependabot keeps deps current. Last push was days ago, so it's not abandoned.

The README's own Known Limitations section admits that updates to proxmox_vm_qemu almost always show up as a failed task in the Proxmox UI — 'harmless' per the maintainers, but that's exactly the kind of noise that makes people distrust terraform apply output. The LXC resource will crash outright if rootfs isn't defined, instead of failing validation cleanly — a crash in provider code is a real footgun during a terraform plan. It's still built on the older Terraform Plugin SDK v2 rather than the newer terraform-plugin-framework, so it's carrying migration debt any long-term consumer inherits. Small thing, but there's a typo'd filename (heper_qemu.go) and a stale Travis CI badge pointing at a build system the project no longer actually uses (CI has moved to GitHub Actions) — neither breaks anything, but both suggest the docs/hygiene lag behind the code.
