Animated ToDo app built with React Native and Reanimated v2
A small single-screen to-do app that exists mainly as a vehicle for a YouTube tutorial on React Native Reanimated v2. It's for people who want to see swipe-to-delete, animated checkboxes, and color transitions built step by step, not for people looking for a to-do app architecture to copy.
The animated checkbox was pulled out into its own published npm package (react-native-checkbox-reanimated), so the author didn't just leave the animation buried in app code — it's reusable on its own. It's paired with a full build-along YouTube video, so you get the reasoning behind each animation, not just the finished diff. The project structure is flat and honest about its size: two screens, a handful of components, no over-engineering for what is a demo app.
No tests and no CI at all — there's nothing here to learn about testing animated RN components. It's pinned to Reanimated 2 and NativeBase v3, both of which have moved on since the last push in August 2024 (NativeBase itself is effectively in maintenance mode, superseded by gluestack-ui), so expect dependency friction before any code lifts out cleanly. There's no persistence layer or backend — todos presumably live in memory only — so it tells you nothing about how to wire these animations to real state management or storage.
