⚛️ 📺 Projects from the “Can it be done in React Native?” YouTube series
A collection of standalone Expo apps, one folder per example from the 'Can it be done in React Native?' YouTube series, covering gestures, Reanimated animations, Skia drawing, and a handful of small demos. It is for developers who want to see one specific technique working in a real app, not a library to install.
Each example is a self-contained app with its own App.tsx and components folder, so one folder shows a whole technique without tracing through shared framework code. Folder names map to single techniques (tinder-swipe, flip-card, horizontal-slider, tap-gesture, svg-path-morphing), which makes it easy to find the example for one specific problem. The skia-examples folder covers less common territory, such as shader-based blur masks and path-along-gradient effects, where worked examples are hard to find.
The last push was May 2025, and each example has its own package.json and yarn.lock with no workspace root, so there is no single command to install or upgrade them all. The skia-examples and svg-path-morphing folders depend on patch files against react-native-reanimated 3.6.2 and react-native-svg 12.1.1, which makes upgrading either dependency a job of re-deriving the patch or dropping the example. There are no tests and no per-example README; the top-level README is a few lines pointing to the YouTube channel, so the code explains itself only as far as the videos do.
