A lightweight and very configurable jQuery plugin for file uploading using ajax(a sync); includes support for queues, progress tracking and drag and drop.

A jQuery plugin for ajax file uploads with drag-and-drop, queueing, and progress callbacks. It's for developers maintaining older jQuery-based frontends who need upload UI without pulling in a bigger library like Dropzone or Fine Uploader.

Zero dependencies beyond jQuery itself and a genuinely small footprint (~8KB). The callback surface is thorough — separate hooks for drag state, per-file progress, validation failures (type/size/extension), and queue completion — so you can wire custom UI without touching the plugin's internals. The queue/auto/multiple options cover the common upload UX patterns (one-at-a-time vs. parallel, manual start vs. immediate) without extra code.

Hard dependency on jQuery is a dealbreaker for any modern stack — nobody building with React, Vue, or vanilla ES modules wants to drag in jQuery just for file uploads. No chunked or resumable upload support, so large files or flaky connections aren't handled; that's table stakes for upload libraries in 2026. Last commit was January 2022, meaning no maintenance against newer browser APIs (File System Access API, better drag-and-drop events) or security fixes in years. No TypeScript types, which makes integration into any typed codebase annoying even if you're still on jQuery.
