I needed to edit many Resource files, so figured someone would too.

// the take

A Godot 4 editor plugin that lets you view and edit a folder of Resource files as a spreadsheet, one Resource per row, instead of clicking through the Inspector one file at a time. It's aimed at Godot devs doing data-driven design (items, enemies, upgrades, dialogue) who are tired of babysitting dozens of near-identical .tres files.

CSV import/export with strongly-typed columns means you can round-trip your data through a spreadsheet app, not just Godot's own editor. Multi-cell select-and-edit plus batch operations (multiply/add numbers, rotate color hues, slice a texture into an atlas across selected rows) go well beyond a basic grid view and solve real tedium. Full undo/redo on top of all that is the kind of detail that's easy to skip and the author didn't. The typed_cells/typed_editors split is a clean extension point if you need a column type it doesn't ship with.

One maintainer, no CI, and no tests anywhere in the tree — for a tool that edits your actual Resource files in place, that's a real risk if a mass operation or CSV import goes wrong on a project with no backups. It's built directly against Godot's editor/Inspector internals, which Godot has a history of breaking between minor versions, and the separate Godot 3 vs Godot 4 branches (rather than a compatibility shim) suggest ports happen manually and lag releases. No changelog or version history to gauge how actively edge cases get fixed between the big feature pushes.
