Deal with AttributedString efficiently
A small Objective-C category library that lets you build NSAttributedString with a fluent, chainable API instead of the usual attribute-dictionary boilerplate. It's aimed at iOS developers still maintaining Objective-C codebases who want less ceremony around string styling.
The chaining API genuinely cuts boilerplate for common cases like coloring a substring or setting a partial font size — the match(@"text").red.string pattern reads better than building an attributes dictionary by hand. It also hooks directly into UILabel and UITextField via typesetBlock, so restyling on text change doesn't require manual reapplication. The attribute coverage is wide: kerning, strikethrough, ligature, paragraph style, stroke, shadow — most of NSAttributedString's surface is wrapped.
Objective-C only, no Swift interop layer, and only installable via CocoaPods (no SPM) — that alone rules it out for most projects in 2026. Last commit was July 2020, over five years ago, with iOS SDK and CocoaPods ecosystem having moved substantially since. There's a TypesetTests target but no CI badge shows recent passing runs and no visible test coverage of the regex-based match methods, which is exactly where subtle range bugs would hide. Apple's own AttributedString (Swift, since iOS 15) does most of what this offers natively, so the practical use case for adopting this today is narrow.
