Home Assistant integration to manage Eufy Security devices as cameras, home base stations, doorbells, motion and contact sensors.

A Home Assistant custom integration that exposes Eufy Security cameras, doorbells, locks, and alarm base stations as HA entities, built on top of bropat's reverse-engineered eufy-security-client/eufy-security-ws stack. It's for Home Assistant users on Eufy hardware who want local automations instead of the Eufy app, but the README states outright that this repo is done and points to a successor project.

Wide entity coverage for a consumer ecosystem — cameras, locks, safes, alarm panel modes, PTZ, and device-specific sensors, all exposed as standard HA platforms (camera.py, lock.py, alarm_control_panel.py, etc). Services map cleanly onto real Eufy features that the official app doesn't expose to automations, like arm_custom_bypass for user-defined guard modes and quick_response for doorbell replies. 1.4k stars and an active issue tracker mean most edge cases with specific camera models have already been hit and discussed.

The README's first line says the repo will not be updated further and redirects to a new implementation — anyone adopting this today is starting on a project the author has already moved off of. The whole thing depends on a three-layer stack (this integration -> eufy-security-ws add-on -> eufy-security-client) that imitates the mobile app against undocumented Eufy servers, so it breaks whenever Eufy changes something server-side, and there's no vendor support path when that happens. Setup requires creating and sharing a secondary Eufy account just to avoid session conflicts, plus manually forcing streaming quality to LOW everywhere — workarounds, not a stable API contract. Debugging non-RTSP cameras means literally sharing your camera access with the maintainer's personal account, which doesn't scale past one person's spare time.
