Raspberry Pi PCI Express device compatibility database

A Jekyll-powered database of PCIe devices tested on Raspberry Pi CM4/CM5/5 boards, covering GPUs, NICs, HATs, storage controllers, and carrier boards. It's for anyone building a Pi-based NAS, router, or GPU rig who wants to know before buying whether a card actually works, and how.

Enormous, actively growing dataset (hundreds of entries across boards, GPUs, NICs, storage, M.2 adapters) built entirely through community PRs, which keeps it current with new hardware like the CM5 and RTX 40-series. The Jekyll collections structure (_boards_cm, _cards_gpu, _cards_network, etc.) with per-device markdown files is a clean, low-friction way to crowdsource structured content without a database or CMS. CONTRIBUTING.md and a card-template.md lower the bar for adding entries, which is why the list keeps expanding.

There's no machine-readable export (JSON/CSV/API) of the compatibility data, so anyone wanting to query 'which GPUs work on CM4' programmatically has to scrape the rendered HTML. Data quality depends entirely on PR reviewers eyeballing markdown front matter; there's no CI check validating required fields, dead links, or duplicate entries beyond a generic ci.yml. Compatibility results are static text snapshots tied to whatever kernel/firmware was current when the PR was filed, with no indication of which Pi OS version or kernel a result applies to, so old entries can silently go stale as firmware changes. It's a content repo, not a tool — nothing here to run or integrate, just a site you read.
