A platform adaptive Flutter app for desktop, mobile and web.

A reference app from gskinner showing how to make one Flutter codebase feel native across iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux, and web. Useful for developers evaluating whether Flutter desktop/web is viable and wanting to see real patterns for responsive layout and platform-specific window chrome, not for forking into a production app.

Full custom title bar implementations per desktop OS (lib/_utils/native_window_utils/titlebar_wrappers) are a genuinely hard problem most Flutter desktop samples skip entirely. The command pattern for all mutations (lib/commands/books, lib/commands/app) keeps business logic out of widgets and makes the data flow easy to trace. Uses freezed for immutable models instead of hand-rolled copyWith boilerplate.

Last commit is from August 2022 — over four years stale against current Flutter stable, so expect SDK/dependency breakage on a fresh checkout. Firebase and Cloudinary API keys are checked into the repo in AppKeys.dart on shared free-tier accounts, which is a bad pattern to copy even if intentional for a demo. No visible test directory despite the complexity of the state/command layering. The lib/_spikes folder of half-finished experiments is left in the shipped repo, which is noise for anyone trying to read the real architecture.
