A simple NvPipe wrapper for Unity
uNvPipe is a thin C++/C# wrapper that exposes NVIDIA's NvPipe (hardware NVENC/NVDEC encode-decode) inside Unity, mainly for streaming rendered frames over a network with GPU-accelerated compression. It's for Unity devs building remote rendering, VR streaming, or networked camera-feed setups who want to skip writing the native plugin glue themselves.
Ships both the prebuilt .dll and the native plugin source (Plugins/uNvPipe), so you're not stuck with a black box if something breaks. Distribution covers the three common Unity paths - .unitypackage, UPM git URL, and a scoped npm-style registry - which is more installation flexibility than most one-person Unity plugins bother with. The samples aren't just toy demos: there's a basic encoder-to-decoder loop, file output, and a full network round-trip example using uOSC, which actually shows the real use case (streaming between two instances).
No push since November 2021, and it wraps NVIDIA's own NvPipe, which NVIDIA itself stopped maintaining years ago - so you're depending on two dead layers. Hard-locked to Windows 10 plus NVENC/NVDEC-capable GPUs, meaning no Linux, no Mac, no fallback path if the hardware codec isn't present. At 42 stars there's no real community to lean on if the prebuilt binaries don't match your Unity/driver version, and the README has zero API documentation - you're expected to read the sample scripts to figure out usage.
