Blackmagic DeckLink video capture/playback plugin for Unity.

Klinker is a native Unity plugin for capturing and outputting video through Blackmagic DeckLink/Intensity hardware, written by keijiro as one of his many hardware-interop experiments. It's for Unity devs doing broadcast, live-compositing, or video-wall work who already own Blackmagic capture cards and need frames inside Unity's render pipeline.

The plugin does GPU-side YUV-to-RGB conversion via dedicated Subsampler/Upsampler shaders instead of marshaling raw frames through C# and converting on the CPU, which is the right call for anything running at video framerates. The native/managed split is clean: the C++ side (Plugin/) talks to DeckLink's COM API directly, while FrameSender/FrameReceiver and DeviceEnumerator on the C# side stay thin wrappers, so the plugin surface is easy to read in one sitting. It also ships a timecode unit test, which is more test coverage than most one-person Unity native plugins bother with.

It's Windows-only and requires licensed Blackmagic hardware plus their Desktop Video drivers, so there's no way to even try this without owning a capture card. Last commit is from November 2020 — five years stale against current DeckLink SDKs, Unity's render pipeline changes, and no Apple Silicon or Linux story at all. Test coverage is a single timecode test and two manual scenes; there's no CI building the native plugin, so you can't tell if it still compiles against current DeckLink headers. Most damning: the README itself tells you to use a commercial plugin for serious work, which is honest but means the author doesn't stand behind this for anything beyond prototyping.
