A list of full-stack clone project ideas (Streamyard, Google Docs, Google Meet, Google Drive, Leetcode) by hkirat, each with its own README presumably laying out scope and requirements. It's for developers who want a portfolio project bigger than a todo app but don't know what to build.
The picks are genuinely well-chosen: each one forces you to deal with a different hard problem (WebRTC for Meet, CRDTs or OT for Docs, live streaming infra for Streamyard, code execution sandboxing for Leetcode). No boilerplate scaffolding is provided, so you're not tempted to just copy-paste a starter repo.
There's no code here at all, just READMEs with project prompts, so the 599 stars are really stars for a reading list, not a codebase. Last push was July 2023, over three years ago, so there's no indication this is still maintained or that new ideas get added despite the README's claim it will be updated. Each project README is the entire spec, so depth varies wildly depending on which one you pick, and there's no rubric or reference implementation to check your work against.
