Best practices in Coding, Designing and Architecting Java Applications

A personal collection of Java/architecture notes from a long-time in28minutes instructor, organized as a giant table-of-contents README covering coding standards, testing, REST/SOA, and microservices. It's aimed at junior-to-mid developers preparing for interviews or looking for a structured refresher on 'why' questions, not at anyone wanting working code or a reference implementation.

The table of contents is genuinely comprehensive as a study outline, spanning coding, testing, design, and architecture in one place. A few sections (REST maturity model, exception handling, 12-factor app) are explained concisely and correctly. It's a reasonable free substitute for skimming several textbooks if you just want the vocabulary and talking points for an interview.

A large fraction of the linked headers ("Why should you have minimum scope for variables?", "What is Pair Programming?", dozens more) have no content under them at all — it's a promise of an answer, not an answer. There's no actual code in the repo; it's markdown, PDFs, and images, several of which are broken or outdated links (YouTube videos, old blog posts, dead PDF references). The content is opinion-as-fact with no citations or examples, and the repo is unmaintained since October 2023 with several self-promotional links to the author's LinkedIn and course platform mixed into technical sections.
