// the take

A dump of ~40 unlabeled PDF files (java(1).pdf through java(38).pdf, plus jsp(1-5).pdf) with a README that's just copy-pasted Wikipedia text about the Java language. There's no code and no indication of what any individual PDF actually contains — useful only to someone willing to blindly open files looking for a decent reference book.

Free access to a decent volume of Java/JSP reference material in one place if you're willing to dig. Topic spread (JVM internals, JSP, general language) suggests some breadth beyond beginner material.

Files are named java(1).pdf...java(38).pdf with zero indication of title, author, or topic — you have to open each one to know what you're looking at. No licensing information for any of the PDFs, and redistributing scanned/copied programming books like this is a copyright problem waiting to happen, which is presumably why the repo has had no activity since 2020. The README contributes nothing project-specific — it's lifted wholesale from Wikipedia's Java article and describes the language, not the repo's contents.

We read the README, the directory tree and a key source file in October 2026. Nobody pays to be listed. How we judge →
