کتاب راهنمای لینوکس و زندگی
A free web book in Persian covering both the practical (installing distros, shell basics, choosing a career path) and philosophical side of Linux and free software, built as a static site with docpad. It's aimed at Persian-speaking newcomers who want an onboarding path into Linux and tech careers, not at experienced admins looking for reference material.
The chapter list goes well beyond a typical install guide — it covers career questions like whether university is worth it, how to learn English as a non-native speaker, and how to pick a distro, which is the kind of context beginners actually struggle to find. Content is plain markdown with YAML-style frontmatter, so contributing a new chapter is low-friction and the repo has clearly sustained outside contributions given the fork count. It's a genuinely long-lived community resource rather than a one-off tutorial dump.
It's built on docpad, a static site generator that's been effectively unmaintained for years — anyone trying to build this locally today is likely to hit dependency rot before they see a rendered page. The vendored jquery-1.11.1.min.js is over a decade old and there's no indication of any front-end modernization. The TODO list (ePub export, PDF export, moving payment info out of hardcoded pages) has apparently sat untouched, and the entire thing is Persian-only, so it's a dead end for the large majority of a general developer audience.
