 This project is dedicated to collecting high-quality macOS software and organizing them systematically by different categories for easy search and use.

A massive, hand-maintained markdown list of macOS software split into dozens of categories — editors, dev tools, note-taking apps, utilities, and more. It's for developers or power users hunting for a specific type of Mac app and wanting something better than App Store search.

The categorization is genuinely deep (20+ top-level sections, each split further, e.g. Markdown Tools vs Note-taking vs Journaling), which makes it actually browsable instead of one giant undifferentiated list. Each entry is tagged with icons for open-source/freeware/App Store/native status, so you know what you're getting before clicking through. It ships a build pipeline that generates RSS feeds and translated versions (zh/ja/ko), and there's an npm package and Docker image for consuming the data outside GitHub.

It's a markdown file, not software — the 'Swift' language tag and 115k stars are misleading signals of engineering substance; the actual repo content is a list plus some build scripts. Curation quality is inconsistent: the top of the README is stuffed with the maintainer's own paid apps and sponsor placements before you reach any actual content, which undercuts trust in the picks below. There's no visible automated check for dead links or abandoned projects in a list this size, so expect some entries to be dead ends. As a crowdsourced PR-driven list, inclusion bar is unclear — some entries read like self-submitted marketing blurbs rather than independent evaluation.
