Docker image with StatsD, Graphite, Grafana 2 and a Kamon Dashboard

A Docker image bundling StatsD, Graphite, and an old Grafana version into one container, pre-wired with dashboards for Kamon's Akka/Scala actor and trace metrics. It's for Scala devs who already instrumented their app with Kamon and want a local metrics stack running in one command, not for anyone building a new monitoring setup today.

One `make up` gets StatsD, Graphite, and Grafana running together with the datasource and Kamon dashboards already wired up, skipping the usual manual setup of connecting Grafana to Graphite and building actor/trace panels from scratch. Host-mounted volumes persist Graphite and Grafana state across container restarts, so you don't lose dashboards or metrics history on every `make down`/`make up` cycle. The Makefile wrapper around docker-compose keeps the day-to-day commands (up/down/shell/tail) trivial even for people who don't know the compose internals.

Last pushed February 2022 and the stack it bundles (StatsD + Graphite) was already being displaced by Prometheus as the default metrics pipeline well before that, so this is monitoring a dying standard for a dying stack. Everything - statsd, carbon, graphite-web, grafana, nginx - runs in a single container under supervisord, which means you can't scale or restart components independently and a crash in one service risks the whole box; this is a demo pattern, not something you'd run past a laptop. Ships with hardcoded admin/admin Grafana credentials and no guidance on changing them, fine for a throwaway local stack but a real risk if anyone ports this compose file toward anything reachable from a network. The README still says Grafana 4 while the repo description says Grafana 2 - that mismatch alone tells you the docs and dashboard JSON haven't been touched in a long time and likely won't import cleanly into a current Grafana.
