The best Swiper component for React Native.

A drop-in carousel/swiper component for React Native, built on top of ScrollView with paging, loop, autoplay, and dot pagination baked in. It's aimed at anyone who wants an onboarding slider or image carousel without wiring up ScrollView paging logic themselves.

The prop surface covers the common carousel needs out of the box — loop, autoplay, custom dot/active-dot elements, and full passthrough of ScrollView/ScrollResponder callbacks for people who need lower-level control. loadMinimal only renders slides near the current index, which matters once slides hold images or webviews instead of plain views. It ships its own index.d.ts, so TypeScript consumers aren't stuck with @types/ guesses.

It's a paging ScrollView, not a virtualized list, so it doesn't scale past a handful of slides and the 1.6.0 change that dropped ViewPagerAndroid in favor of ScrollView-only actually pulls native Android paging further away rather than closer. Loop mode works by cloning the first/last slides at the edges, which is a classic source of index-mismatch and flicker bugs — the changelog itself lists 'fix flicker when loop and loadMinimal are enabled' as a recent fix, meaning that combination was broken for a while. The README examples still use index.ios.js and React.createClass, patterns that predate the current React Native architecture, so newcomers following the docs literally will hit dead ends. Maintenance is effectively one author plus one secondary contributor for a package with 10k+ stars, which is a lot of surface area for two people to triage.
