Rust tools, libraries

// the take

A personal monorepo of ~25 small single-purpose Rust CLIs (accessibility tree dumping, macOS automation, session observability, task running, dotfile sync, etc.) plus two small libraries, all built around nikiv's own `flow` task runner. It's for people who want to cherry-pick a specific tool for inspiration or direct use, not for anyone looking for a cohesive product.

Each CLI lives in its own Cargo workspace member with its own Cargo.toml, so you can build or vendor just the one tool you want without pulling in the rest. A few tools solve real, underserved niches: `ax` walks the macOS Accessibility tree for computer-use agents, and `observe` does low-overhead session/activity streaming with its own docs on the zero-impact design. The workspace structure keeps incremental compiles fast even with 25+ binaries.

The README is two paragraphs and documents none of the individual CLIs — you're reading Rust source to figure out flags and behavior for nearly all of them. Most tools are glue for the author's personal Mac setup (Karabiner config, Zed keybinding sync, a personal MCP server), so adopting them means either matching his exact workflow or doing real surgery on the code. There's no crates.io publishing or tagged releases; the only install path is cloning and running the author's own `flow` tool to compile and place binaries on your PATH, which is a trust and portability problem for anything beyond toy use. Test coverage is essentially one test file in `lin-rs`; the rest ship with no automated verification, and the contributing policy ('all meaningful PRs will be merged in') suggests light review rather than a maintained API contract.

We read the README, the directory tree and a key source file in October 2026. Nobody pays to be listed. How we judge →
