// the take
A personal monorepo of CLIs, scripts and library experiments in TypeScript, built on Bun and Effect, maintained by a single developer (nikiv). It's not a library you install — it's a grab-bag of tools (Spotify CLI, a key-value store CLI, a task runner called 'flow') that's more interesting to browse for ideas than to depend on.
Real working CLIs (spotify, store) built with Effect for structured error handling rather than throwaway scripts. The try/ directory is an honest experimentation log — reatom, effector, jazz, hnsw get tried and judged before anything gets adopted into the main tree. Bun throughout means fast installs and no node_modules bloat for what are mostly single-file tools. lib/utils has a jsr.json, showing at least one piece is meant to ship as an actual package rather than just live in the repo.
The README is three lines and assumes you already use the author's separate 'flow' CLI — there's no documentation of what any individual tool actually does. No tests and no CI config anywhere in the tree, so there's no safety net if you fork and modify something here. The contributing policy ('Use AI... all meaningful issues and PRs will be merged in') suggests low review rigor, which matters if you're trusting any of this code. Outside of lib/utils, nothing here is versioned or published — most of it is copy-the-code-yourself, not install-and-import.
