PLCameraStreamingKit is Qiniu/Pili's older iOS SDK for capturing camera and mic input and pushing it out as an RTMP stream, with hardware H.264/AAC encoding and live-broadcast extras like beauty filter, watermark, and background music. It's aimed at iOS developers building a Periscope/Meerkat-style broadcast app who don't want to hand-roll a capture-to-RTMP pipeline. The repo's own README tells you not to use it: it was merged into PLMediaStreamingKit and retired in 2016.
Does the actually hard part - hardware VideoToolbox/AudioToolbox H.264/AAC encoding on iOS - rather than shipping a bare socket wrapper. Exposes real state/bitrate/dropped-frame callbacks so you can build your own reconnect and quality-adaptation logic instead of being stuck with a black box. Bakes in the features a live app actually needs (beauty filter, watermark, background music) instead of leaving them as an exercise for the integrator. The APIDiffs folder tracks breaking changes release by release back to 1.1.2, more changelog discipline than most SDKs this old bother with.
Officially dead - the README's first line is a notice to migrate to PLMediaStreamingKit, and the repo has taken no commits since 2016. Targets Objective-C/iOS APIs from nearly a decade ago with no indication it builds cleanly against a current Xcode/SDK. Dependencies (HappyDNS, KSCrash, pili-librtmp) are vendored straight into the Example's Pods directory rather than pulled cleanly, which makes updating or auditing them harder. No test suite anywhere in the tree - the only way to verify behavior is running the bundled Example app.
