A list of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS offerings that have free tiers of interest to devops and infradev
A massive, community-maintained list of SaaS/PaaS/IaaS offerings with free tiers, aimed at devops and infra folks trying to stub together a stack without paying anything. It's less a tool and more a reference doc you skim when you need 'something free that does X'.
- Scope is genuinely disciplined for an awesome-list: no self-hosted software, no free-trial-only offers, and time-bucketed tiers must last at least a year — that filtering keeps it from becoming useless noise
- Entries include concrete free-tier limits (request counts, storage, GB egress) instead of just linking out, so you can actually compare options without opening ten tabs
- 1600+ contributors and steady maintenance (pushes as recent as last week) means dead links and retired free tiers get caught reasonably fast for a list this size
- 138k stars and a single flat README organized by category — there's no search, filtering, or structured data (no JSON/API export), so at this size finding what you need still means Ctrl+F
- No automated link-checking or expiry tracking visible; free tiers change terms constantly and a list this large will always have some stale entries slip through between PR reviews
- Being alphabetical-ish within categories with no ranking or 'best for X' guidance means a service with a genuinely useful free tier sits next to a barely-there one with equal visual weight
