Curated list of resources on HashiCorp's Terraform and OpenTofu
A community-maintained index of Terraform and OpenTofu resources: tools, modules, providers, books, tutorials, and registries. It's an awesome-list, not a library — no code to run, just links. Useful as a starting point when you're new to Terraform or looking for something specific you don't know the name of.
Automated CI workflows (link checker, spell check, 404 detection) mean dead links get caught rather than silently rotting. The legend clearly marks abandoned projects with skulls and pre-0.12 incompatible tools with ghosts, so you know what you're getting into before clicking. Coverage is genuinely broad — modules, providers, testing tools, self-hosted registries, CI integrations, editor plugins — not just the obvious HashiCorp-official stuff. OpenTofu is now included alongside Terraform, which matters since the license fork.
Quality control is inconsistent — a Dominos Pizza provider sits next to production-grade AWS modules with no signal about which entries are worth your time versus historical curiosities. Many entries in the Testing and Tools sections are skull-marked abandoned, which means a newcomer skimming for testing options will mostly find dead projects. There's no indication of last-updated dates on individual entries, so you can't tell if a blog post is from 2017 or 2024 without clicking. The Terraform Academy entries (learning platform, iOS app, Android app, PWA) read like sponsored content with nearly identical descriptions — the line between community resource and advertisement isn't enforced.
