🍁 Hide the bookmark bar, use Maple Bookmarks to surf smoothly.

A Chrome/Edge/Firefox extension that hides the native bookmarks bar and replaces it with a keyboard-triggered popup for browsing and fuzzy-searching bookmarks. Companion extensions handle the new-tab page and a flat white theme. Built for people who find the bookmarks bar visually noisy but still want fast access to bookmarks.

Fuzzy search (via fuse.js) covers Chinese, English, and domain name matching, with keyboard navigation (arrow keys + Enter) over the top three results — a genuinely faster workflow than clicking through a bar. The three-extension split (bookmarks, new-tab, theme) is a sensible decomposition since Chrome won't let one extension override both the bar and the new-tab page. Codebase is small and dependency-light — plain JS files, no build/bundler step, easy to read end to end in a few minutes.

No automated tests at all, and no CI beyond a publish workflow — any regression in search ranking or folder expand/collapse ships straight to users. Manifest V2-style structure with a separate manifest_firefox.json suggests the Chrome build may still be on MV2 or recently migrated; worth checking before relying on it long-term given Chrome's MV2 deprecation. No TypeScript, no linted module boundaries beyond eslint.config.js, so the 'lib/fuse.js' vendored copy is easy to drift out of date silently. Project is effectively a single maintainer's personal tool (shortcuts, cat-feeding link in README) — fine for what it does, but don't expect fast turnaround on edge-case bugs or feature requests outside the author's own workflow.
